Charleston Police Make Arrest in Speedway Robbery
The Speedway on Green Road along Corridor G was robbed Dec. 19, 2010. Charleston Police Department detectives within the department’s Criminal Investigation Division have charged 23-year-old George Franklin Jeffery of Alum Creek with first-degree robbery.

Charleston Police have started a criminal investigation — in addition to the ongoing internal investigation — into allegations of sexual harassment by a member of the department’s Professional Standards Division, said Charleston Police Chief Brent Webster.
